Carolyn Byrd

Advisor

After being a Registered Nurse for over 37 years, Carolyn retired in 2020. She found her career to be both gratifying and very rewarding. In 2009, she was diagnosed with stage 3 breast cancer, but that was not the end. Today, she considers herself to be a breast cancer “THRIVER”. She was able to transform her health and prognosis with the power of whole food nutrition and other healthy lifestyle changes. It was through her experience she became inspired to become a strong advocate and resource for others. Even in retirement, Carolyn is a dedicated Certified Wellness Coach, a Holistic Cancer Coach, and a Certified Breast Care Nurse. In 2014, she completed the Dr. Sears LEAN coaching program and launched her own business, Live Long and Lean, a health, wellness and nutrition ministry. Most recently, Carolyn launched her personal blog called “Carolyn Conquered Cancer” to help women navigate through the maze of breast cancer care and treatment. Carolyn’s most recent mission is the monthly breast cancer awareness walk. The monthly walk is called “Reduce your Risk” because breast cancer awareness is more than just a month.
